Good gracious, blog is bodacious.

Lost & Found

Disclaimer: none of the forthcoming items were necessarily ever “lost.” They have, however, most definitely been found, during a recent Purge It! session between me and two of my best closets. In fact, I found a lot of things this weekend, and most of it went straight into the WHY Do I Still Own This?/What IS This?/Wow, This Is Embarrassing pile, otherwise known as The Garbage, Hallelujah! Nevertheless, it’s always fun to document some of the nonsense before you ship it off to a deserted island*, and I did find some diamonds in the rough, wherein “the rough” mostly means “my stuff.” And I should probably just skip the metaphors and move straight to the pictures.

Found Item, The First: A vintage photographic rendering of Oregon’s very own Multnomah Falls, taken by my mom or dad, circa before I was born.

vintage-multnomah-falls

Found Item, The Second: Photographic evidence of me first falling in love with Priest Lake.

I love this place

Found Item, The Third: A giant unused paintbrush. You know, for all of the giant portraits I’m commissioned to not paint.

oh hai giant paintbrush

Found Item(s), The Fourth: Before and after photos of a 3×3 tournament for charity my girlfriends and I took just a tad too seriously in college.

Why were we wearing camo? I have no idea

I can’t even see our torsos. Where’d they go? (I’m on the far left, if you weren’t sure.)

We did win, though. Awwh, yeah. The prize was…OUR PRIDE.

Oh so sweaty

Oh, and some ill-fitting red t-shirts. (I’m on the far right this time.)

Found Item, The Fifth: My old cell phone, circa umm…this very well could have been my very first cell phone. I have no idea when I got it, but I do know I dropped it in a box (and promptly forgot about it, and then moved with it three different times) in October of 2004. HOW do I know that? Well, the phone still had (minimal) battery power left SIX years later, and so I turned it on. And checked the last calls. And oh, there were also still some text messages, and some clear tape holding the phone together because I had dropped it so many times.

RIP

I love how it’s shining like an angel instead of the sad little flip phone that it was. Rest in peace, Samson the Samsung.

*No deserted islands were harmed in the purging of my closets.

Ha! My first phone was a Nokia and…I still have it. It’s in the kids’ toy box.

That photo of you three in the camo gear is awesome. Y’all are FIERCE.

That reminds me, I really need to clean out my closets!

Yeah! I love the olden days and vintage stuff. Although I wouldn’t call 2004 vintage.

I don’t remember what my first phone was. I just remember that it was the exact same as my best friend in high school because we had to match.

I should purge my closet too (and by my closet I mean Vahid’s side of it).

Love the 3-on-3 photos. Lord knows I have a lot of those!

I have a veritable graveyard of electronics. I really ought to figure out how to get rid of them. Or donate them to a museum.

Love the picture of you at the lake!

I love how you have “best closets.” I hope the other closets don’t feel left out. I have pantry reorganizing and kids’ closets on the tackle list for the next weekend. Whoo-super exciting stuff.
