Good gracious, blog is bodacious.

Weekend Update, Springtastic Edition

This past weekend was filled to the brim with travel, wine tasting, more travel, baby cooing, more travel, great friends, more travel, clam chowder, and-you guessed it!-more travel.

All of that travel was done via car, and so, as if to tell us, “Hey! Eff you guys and your endless road warrioring,” our car has decided to feign overheating, and so is currently at the spa getting a relaxing seaweed wrap.

On Friday I was paid to tour some quasi-local wineries in the hopes of securing a place for our company picnic slated for the end of July. “Paid to tour wineries” might be one of my all-time favorite phrases, ever, second only to “unlimited Etsy budget” or “all-expense-paid trip.”

On our way to one of the wineries we were quite lost, though we stopped complaining and started laughing when we stumbled upon one of the most breathtaking views we’d ever seen by accident:

A picture of a photographer taking a picture, of course:

On Sunday we headed to Seattle for the day, which was a bit of a whirlwind trip, I’ll admit, but totally worth it. Our primary mission should we choose to accept it was to (finally!) get to officially meet Rowan, the (adorable) bundle of joy recently delivered to Jen! and Roth!

Their first (adorable) baby, Ms. Sierra M. Beagle, who might be feeling just a tad jealous of all the baby loving was all too willing to strike a fierce pose for the camera:

We hung out with our good friends and new parents all day long, Chris with his camera perpetually by his side to capture the myriad “Awwh” family moments. Never one to really sit on the sidelines without becoming camera-happy myself, I managed to sneak a few shots during the Sunday family festivities, too. I sort of like them a lot:

This is Rowan, being cuter than you:

And this is Rowan gobbling my finger because (it tastes like chicken! and) apparently that’s just what he felt like doing to soothe himself after a long arduous day playing model for Chris and his camera, because the sun, it was bright, and being a baby is hard work, you know?

I hope yours was equally awesome.

He’s getting so big! And even cuter (if that’s possible) than when I first met him.

Fantastic pictures. :-) The color on the peacock? Gorgeous!

  2. Ashley says:

So much fun! Those first 4 or 5 photos are so cool! i was looking at it and (my hubs) Chris looked over and was all “wow, who took those, those are awesome!” I AGREE! Awesome! :)

Also, I told Chris (yours hubs) that we should all get together for dinner soon, and then he forgot about it. So I figure I should talk to the wife to get anything done ;) SO we should go.

My head just exploded from all the cuteness. I’m wiping gray matter off my computer monitor as I type this.

    Beautiful weather for it, too!

Great photos. Glad you had a good time. ;)

Awesome pics there, lady! Of course, I may be biased, as I think any pic of my babies (Sierra included) are adorable.

So good to see you both. It’s definitely our turn to make the trip down to Portland. Soon, soon …

What river is that? It reminds me of the Snake River in Idaho…good memories of white water rafting down that river! Glad you had a good weekend :)
