Good gracious, blog is bodacious.

WanderLust

Today I am embarking on my second journey into the heart of sweet tea and jambalaya, known otherwise as Mobile, Alabama. I am functioning at far higher levels of traditional excited! right now, mostly because in less than 24 hours I get to see the man who, after telling me he is going to the store to procure a coffee-maker, sends me an email with a picture of this purchase, because, naturally, he just couldn’t resist:

It should be noted somewhere that within said email he also offered to return to the store and buy me one, too, lest I feel left out, or less flippin’ sweet.

Something definitely inspiring a flippin’ sweet feeling within me is the fact that not only do I get to see Chris today, but during my stay in The Bama, I get to meet and smooch the wonderful A (manda B.) for the first time, in real, non-online life. I am so thrilled at the thought of said meeting and smooching that I am probably a little wet in my pants, or noticeably salivating a bit. Or both.

While I will indeed be traipsing around the Southernmost part of these our lower 48 states for the next two weeks, I will indeed be blessed with high speed internet access for the duration of said traipse and will thus most surely be posting regularly, and emailing regularly (ahem, Kelly, it is coming! I promise!), and will plan on regiling you all with Southern-inspired stories and pictures of all shapes, sizes, and appropriateness. I know you are already bursting with the sheer excitement of it all!

So, please, send your cozy airport vibes my way (my itinerary requires me to be perpetually plane-hopping from 7am until 9pm this evening, wee!), in the hopes that I shall miraculously avoid any exceedingly cramped or smelly or otherwise obnoxious mid-air seating arrangements.

And, as a bonus!, more random Portland pictures:

OMG! The countdown…it is almost over…remember…stretch before seeing Chris! It reduces the likelihood of injuries (haha!)

Seriously though, I hope that you both have a great time and look forward to posts and pictures as soon as they are available.

I’ve actually been to Mobile a couple a times…consulting gigs…I remember my tall hotel gettin slammed by an afternoon thunderstorm seemingly conjured up from the very bowels of hell – the whole building swayed…I remember killer BBQ from greasy lil dives, drinkin way too many margaritas one night before I had to do this training, the Gulf Shores white sands, frozen drinks and warm gulf waters, the poor folks, the state of decay and the humidity. It don’t get much deeper south than Mo Beel. Have fun!
