On Tuesday of this week we trekked to the FloriBama coastline, to bask in the 90 degree heat, and to generally just cover ourselves with sand and salt water.
Upon driving to said coastline Chris was so excited he was about to wet his pants.

Ok, so I made up the pants-wetting part. He was more just humoring me so that I could get all sandy, and throw myself at the waves for a few hours, and swim trap a half gallon of salt water in my left ear, about which I would later complain.
Also, I made myself motion sick. Yes, from hurling myself at the waves and body-surfing into the shoreline. See: how to multi-talented! so as to effectively scrape your shin on a seashell and proceed to lodge sand in less than ideal places simultaneously. Also: how to make other seafarers laugh (at you) as you toss and turn like a beached whale after hitting the shore a bit harder than expected and underestimating the sheer force that is The Ocean Wave.

But the beach, it was beautiful, and soon Chris conceded to the sunlit temptation and proceeded to give me a run for my basking money.

But, as I was able to display more cleavage than he, I proclaimed myself the winner.

I like to win.
And to be covered in sand, if nothing else but for the pictures of my (gargantuan-sized) feet covered in tiny granules of dirt of which I can take.

I have learned over the years that I most definitely prefer lake water to salt water, and grass-stained bruised shins to shell-laden, bruised shins.
Behold: A picture of a shell broken by the force of my body crashing into it after being thrown headfirst into the shallow by a six-foot wave. Artistic viewpoint courtesy of Chris.

I was just kidding about that shell. I didn’t break it. Chris found it like that. I was too busy getting water in my ear at that point to have anything to do with creatively damaging anything. Except for my pride, and my shins, of course.

i agree with you completely about the superiority of lake water to salt water. still, i’d rather be where you are (with you, of course) than where i am (see: work, mostly), in spite of all unwanted and stealthily intrusive sand and salt.
also: you’re hot.
you two look a) very happy b) very hawt and c) make me wanna come over there to hug and smooch you. i also agree about the sea vs. lake. the smell of ocean air is the best but all the sand and saltwater… i remember my last vacation in greece in 2003 when it was so windy at the beach that after getting sanded all day we’d look like a schnitzel by the time we went home. and all the peeling of the wrong body-parts… still LOVE the ocean!
Hilariously accurate description of life at the beach! I love the ocean though…even though I end up with sand in every nook and cranny and usually almost drown at least once by getting caught in a gargantual wave, I love the smell and sound of the ocean. The absolute POWER of it. Makes me feel humble.
You look so happy, both of you, and another AMEN you two are HOT. :-)
I agree…complete hotness!! lol Looks like you two are having a wonderful time. I’m very jealous! I love the ocean…
I love that area of the coast. I’m a bit jealous- it’s been years since I’ve been there. Maybe on your next visit, we can all meet up and I can show you how to get attacked by a seemingly innocuous blueish-green crab.
You are so beautiful, it’s just silly. And Chris? Hottie.
See you soon!!
Oh my gosh, I LOVED every one of those pictures. Loved them. And of course, your narration – as always – was warped and hilarious, which warms me inside, down to the very cockles of my being. You know what hacks me off, though? That you have more cleavage than Chris. It’s the opposite in MY house. Crap, man.
I’m jealous! Glad you are having a great time–cute boy and cute toe rings!
The fun you’re having? I can hear it in your voice. :)
And that Chris is CUTE! As are you, sugar.
I love going to the ocean and just sitting and listening and being there. It’s so relaxing and motivating all at once. The sounds stir my soul…..
One day I shall live by the ocean…
wow, that looks like such a wonderful day! great pictures! I miss the beach so much….hope to get to some swimming in those two weeks we call summer in Atl Canada!
PS – cute toe ring!
beautiful pics – I live right next to a lake but want to see the ocean some day.
I love the toe rings too! Have you seen those ones that just have the thin stretchy invisible band around them? so that all you see is the top of it? like you have this little design/ornament/stone or whatever just floating on top of your toe? Ya, I want one of those!
Beeeautiful photos, they show a day at the beach perfectly! I personally like freshwater (Lake Superior especially) – but I have to admit the ocean is amazing :)
Love the black and whites. How very artistic of you.
